"My ancestry in America supposedly started with a Robert Mason who came to Mass. abt. 1630/40. My records indicate that he was b.1590, England, d.1667, ?,Mass., and married a Sarah Reynolds (b. 1629, Aylesford, England, d. 1684, Suffolk, Mass.). Supposedly he was accompanied from England by two brothers -- John and Nathaniel. Tradition has it that their father was a drummer who was killed in Cromwell's army. Either a grandson or great-grandson (b.12-Jan-1683/4, Roxbury, Mass.) moved to New Roxbury, Conn., later renamed to Woodstock."
