HEALDTON -- Services for Robert E. "Bob" Miller, 73, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Ardmore.
Miller was born Oct. 27, 1926, in Ardmore, to Matthew E. "Blondie" and Gladys Howard Miller. He died Aug. 20, 2000, in the Ardmore hospital.
A 1944 graduate of Healdton High School, he served with the Coast Guard on Canton Island during World War II and received his degree from Oklahoma City University in 1952. He worked for Lane Wells Wireline, for Perforating Guns Atlas Corporation in Ardmore and Houston, and retired from Graham Resources, formerly Edwin L. Cox in Healdton, in 1991. He and Amy Brown were married March 17, 1950, at Shawnee. He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 8, 1991; and a son, Richard, in 1964.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Karns, Clarksville, Tenn., and Valerie Darling, Comanche; two sons, Robert Jr., Richmond, Texas, and Matthew, Healdton; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be grandchildren Dan, Allen and Kara Karns, Cassondra and Jason Darling, Jennifer Philipp, Cheryl, Bryan, Tesia and Matthew Miller and Jamie Vasquez.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
