While his death year sometimes seen as 1817, the year he wrote his will, it wasn't filed until March 15 1827, presumed soon after his death. His wife also died 1827. Death records for Robert and Rachel show burial in Baptist Cem., Woodruff, Spartanburg Co. S.C, assumed to be same as Old Bethel Baptist Cemetery, although their youngest son, William, was interred in the Antioch Babtist cemetery, Enoree, also in Spartanburg Co, in 1869, forty years later. This cemetery not proved, as no markers have been found

He is on the Muster Roll at Vallege Forge: Feb., March, 1778. April, 1778 shows under enoculation for Small Pox. Served under Captain William Cunningham, Colonel Richard Parker, and LCol.
