“ was a man of sterling wealth,” he was mentioned in his father's will and would receive the plantation upon which his father lived, the rest of a plantation that was Thomas Tindall's and a tract of 27 acres purchased from Nathan Allen, Sep 13 1751. became the owner of South Hill, the house Robert Pearson II built, after the death of his father.
He saved State Treasurer, Samuel Tucker, from being carried off by the Tories.

Robert was the son of Robert Pearson Jr. and Mary Coar, and the twin of Isaac Pearson. He is presumed to have been born on his parents' plantation in Nottingham Twp., old Burlington Co., NJ (now Hamilton Twp., Mercer Co.). He married Mary Higbee by New Jersey license dated 12 Apr. 1764.
