Robert Prestwich was born on February 2, 1645, in Prestwich Manor, Lancashire, England, and was baptized on February 2, 1645 in Manchester Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire, England. His parents were Thomas De Prestwich and 1st Wife Of Thomas De Prestwich NN. He was a Merchant, Cloth Manufacturer. He was the son who fell out of favor with his father.

Robert married Mary Marie Prestwich on November 15, 1703, in Manchester, St Mary, St Denys and St George, Lancashire, England. No Issue.

Robert married Martha Johnson on May 7, 1720, in Prestwich, St Mary, Lancashire, England. Together they had the following children:

• Richard Prestwich;
• John Prestridge, Sr.;
• Mary Prestwich.

He died before 1730.
