Sir Thomas Prestwich, 2nd Baronet

The Prestwich Baronetcy, of Hulme in the County of Lancaster, was a title in the Baronetage of England. It was created on 25 April 1644 for Thomas Prestwich. His support for the Royalist cause in the English Civil War left him impoverished and he was forced to sell the family seat of Hulme Hall in 1660. The title became extinct on the death of the second Baronet in 1676.

Biography

Thomas De Prestwich was born in 1626 in Leigh St Mary, Lancashire, England, Hulme, Lancashire, England (United Kingdom). His parents were Sir Thomas Prestwich and Lady Elizabeth Chapel Melson.

Thomas married 1st Wife Of Thomas De Prestrich NN in 1642 in Prestwich Manor, Lancashire, England. Together they had the following children:

• Robert Prestwich;
• Thomas Hulme De Prestwich 2nd Baronet.

Thomas married Mary de Prestwich on November 29, 1649, in Mortlake, Surrey, England. Together they had the following children:

• Penelope De Prestwick;
• Margaret De Prestwich;
• Elizabeth Prestwick;
• Arabella Moreton.

He died on September 20, 1676, in Westminster St James, Middlesex, England, London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom and was buried in Westminster, City of Westminster, Greater London, England.
