About Robert S. Brown

Robert Brown was the son of Darrell L. Brown and Jeannette Gossman Stevenson. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Spaulding Council, 3rd and 4th degrees and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Louisville Genealogical Society, The Sons of the American Revolution and a 45-year member of AA. He was a Boy Scout leader for 20 years at Our Mother of Sorrows and St. Francis of Assisi and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He square danced and round danced with the Knight Crawlers. He performed in the theater on Sanibel Island. He was a volunteer at the Wood Theater and Old Schoolhouse Theater on Sanibel and the Pandora Theater in Louisville. After his retirement from the Kentucky Revenue Department, he started an insurance and accounting business. He died at age 81 on March 27, 2010 at Audubon Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Darrell Brown [1921-1972], John Martin Brown of Houston, Texas and William Henry Brown of Jacksonville, Florida and his father-in-law, William T. Mulhall. Survivors included his wife, Martha Mulhall Brown; two sons and one daughter-in-law; one daughter and son-in-law of Tryon, North Carolina; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother-in-law. Funeral Mass was said at St. Frances of Rome Church at Payne and Clifton Streets. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were by Bosse Funeral Home at Barret and Ellison Avenues.
