____ Skene, thought to be Robert Skene in Tilliebirloch "the tutor" born ca. 1567 who married Christian(e) Johnston(e), daughter of the laird of Crimond, considering sources WikiTree: Robert Skene (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Skene-273) and Memorials of the family of Skene of Skene, pp. 30-31. On p. 147 of Memorials of the family of Skene of Skene (https://archive.org/details/memorialsoffamil00sken/page/148/mode/2up), it indicates that the connection of this family with the Skene of Skene had not been ascertained when the book was written in 1887. And much research has occurred since then. The additional sources, all taken together, imply this particular ____ Skene was a son of James and Johanna (Douglas) Skene. In all my research, all my Skene lines go back to Alexander Skene III, Laird XI of Skene, and his wife Elizabeth Forbes seen above. If a discovery is made that this one does not, then it doesn't change my Skene heritage back to Robert the Bruce. Rather, it opens up yet additional lines of research.
