The parents of the Robert Tucker who married Elizabeth Coleman were Thomas Tucker (c1620-1677) and Edy Hentinge of Norfolk Co., VA. Thomas came to VA in 1635 under "contract" to Capt. William Tucker of Elizabeth City., VA. Although some have interpreted the term "contract" to mean indenture, I think it more likely meant that Thomas Tucker, then a teenager, was sent to VA by his parents to live under the care and instruction of Capt. William Tucker. I suspect, but can not prove, that Thomas was likely the son of William Tucker's older brother, Thomas, who lived in London.

Was Joseph Tucker, son of 1645 Robert, the same JT of the Maryland Catholics who settled in Perry Co, MO ? The Maryland Catholic Joseph Tucker may have been a convert to Catholicism and may have been b.ca. 1739. He m. Francis Drury. Descendants of Rev.
