VII. William Udny of that Ilk married a daughter of Duncan Forbes, first of Monymusk, and left three sons : —

• William.
• Robert of Crabadona 1590.
• Hercules.

VII. William Uldeny of Uldeny.

In 1548 his name occurs in an assize of the Lords and Barons of Aberdeenshire for making an assessment. The laird of Oudny's proportion of the tax is £\o. In 1565 he granted a charter of the lands of the Mains of Oudny with the tower and fortalice thereof, mill, and mill lands to his brother, Andrew Udny of Tillery. In 1575 the said Andrew signed a bond of reversion to his nephew, William Udny. William Udny, married a daughter of Duncan Forbes of Monymusk, and had issue, three sons : —

I. William, his successor.

II. Robert, of Crabadona.

III. Hercules. On 24 April, 1865, William Udny signed a precept of sasme in favour of his son, Hercules, of the feu lands of Balnakettle.'

This William Udny died in 1573 or 1574, and was succeeded by his son, the fourth of the name, VIII. William Udny of Udny.

The same source references Robert Udny of Crabadona as being found in Tillery in 1650, however that year would seem to be either an error or else suggests another Robert of Crabadona.
