Robert Vernon, 1st Baron Lyveden, GCB, PC (23 February 1800 – 10 November 1873), known as Robert Vernon Smith until 1859, was a British Liberal Party politician.

Robert Vernon Smith, 1st Baron Lyvedon of Lyvedon was born on 23 February 1800 the son of Robert Percy Smith and Caroline Maria Vernon.

He married Emma Mary Wilson (Emma Mary Fitzpatrick), daughter of John FitzPatrick, 2nd Earl of Upper Ossory on 15 July 1823.
