Roger Beckwith was born circa 1575 at of Clint, Yorkshire, England. He married Susanna Brackenbury circa 1608 at of Yorkshire, England. Roger Beckwith died on 19 January 1634 at Yorkshire, England.

So Roger had already married off one family and was pushing 60 when he married a girl young enough to be his granddaughter and sowed a winter crop. Which is so peculiar to start with, it hardly seems to make much difference just how young she actually was.

They were troubled and chaotic times for the papist northern gentry.

And her mother was a Savile.
