  • 11. Page 226. FRANCIS WOODHOUSE of Breccles was son and heir of JOHN WOODHOUSE of Breccles by ANNE, relict of WILLIAM SAYVE of Mundford, Gent., and sister of FRANCIS SPYLMAN of Stow Bedon, Gent. He was nephew of SIR ROGER WOODHOUSE of Kimberley, Knt., whose will was proved at Norwich 15th February, 1560-1. He married (1) MARGARET REPPS of St. Stephen's, Norwich, and (2) ELEANOR. . . . He was buried at Cawston 24th March, 1604-5, leaving behind him a son JOHN, who was under age at his father s death. FRANCIS WOODHOUSE was for the last twenty years of his life at least a Recusant, and his wife, with her son " JOHN WOODHOUSE, gent.," are returned as "obstinate Recusants" in 1615. He seems to have sold the Breccles estate to Sir Robert Gardiner about 1599, and his wife appears to have parted with the rest of the landed property shortly after her husband's decease, for in 1607 she is described as "nuper de Caston." ___________________
