Roger de Braose

The only Roger documented in MedLands was a brother, not son, not grandson, of William II de Braose.

• ROGER de Briouse . “Willielmus de Braosa” confirmed donations to Abergavenny Priory by “Hamelinus de Balon et Brientius comitis filius et Walterus de Herefort et Henricus de Herefort” by undated charter, witnessed by “Rogero fratre meo…”[1719]. He would have been much older, though.

Since William [III] de Braose and Maud de St. Valery had an indeterminate, though large, number of children, Roger may fit in there also, but would have been at least a third son and in some position that kept him out of the family troubles. (A monastery, perhaps? Although being a Bishop didn't stop Giles....)
