Roland Sherburne was born on 12 Sep 1856 in Canada, the son of Elijah Sherburne and Jane Morrison.

He immigrated to the United Stated in 1885.

Roland married Miss Mary Rhoda Robison in 1888 in Lone Tree, Johnson Co, IA, the daughter of James Robison and Emily Ogden Jayne.

Roland and Mary had six children: Bertha Edna, James Robison, Frank M., Mabel I., Ronald Jack and Norma F.

In 1900 and 1910 Roland lists his occupation as an Apiarist (Beekeeper) and later as a Farmer.

Roland died on 31 Aug 1930 in Lone Tree (Fremont Twp), Johnson Co, IA, aged 73 Years 11 Months 18 Days.
