Ron had been in broadcasting since 1959. Since that time he worked in Coshocton, Wheeling, West Virginia and 37 years in Mount Vernon. Ron was the 1300 WMVO Program Director and host of the talk show “Radioline”. He was an integral part of this community by serving as the announcer for the Mount Vernon Christmas Parade, master of ceremonies for the Knox County Junior Miss program, Utica Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival and the Dogwood Blossoms Chapter Sweet Adeline’s Christmas Show.
Ron won numerous awards, including the 2004 Community Service Award presented by the Freemasons, Knox Soil &Water Conservation Award, Community Spirit Award, Media Honor Roll and Quality of Life Award sponsored by Knox Community Hospital. He was very active with the Food For the Hungry, Knox County Fair and was a lifetime member and past vice president of Jaycees in Mount Vernon.
