Rory McNeil - (Big) of Barra, and his Descendants at Benacadie and Castle Bay.
This Rory McNeil was a foster-brother of one of the chiefs of Barra. Judging from the stories related about him he must have been a very powerful man. Four of his sons and one daughter came from the Gulf and settled in Cape Breton; these were John, Donald, Neil, James, and Mary. It appears that they were among the first immigrants that came from Barra to the Gulf.
