Rosann 'Rosey' Finney

Rosann 'Rosey' Arlington was a daughter, born to John Arlington III and Rose 'Rosey' Bagwell on 3/16/1791 at Accomack County, VA.

Rosann married William Finney V, son of William Finney IV and Euphamia Fletcher on November 28, 1814 at Accomack County, VA.

Rosann Finney was named in her father's will on September 24, 1818 at Accomack County, VA. She was shown as daughter, Rosey Finney in the will of John Arlington.

She was named again in her brother's will on March 26, 1849 at Accomack County, VA. She was shown as my sister, Rosey Finney in the will of John Arlington.

Rosann Finney was listed with her daughter inn the 1860 Census at Onancock, St. George Parish, Accomack County, VA. Shown as Rose Finney, age 70, with personal property valued at 2,000 in the home of Columbus Mapp, head of household HH788, a 23 year old farmer. Also listed was Rose A. Mapp, age 28 (evidently her daughter).

Rosann Arlington Finney died on July 9, 1861. She was buried in the Arlington Plot at Mount Nebo Neck Cemetery, Slutkill Neck, Accomack County, VA. Her grave stone reads: Rosey Finney, March 16, 1791 - July 9, 1861.

[Note: She is presumed to be the Rosey Arlington who married William Finney on November 28, 1814. She was not however listed with him in the 1850 Census and was not named in his will of August 14, 1852. Also, they are buried in different locations.]

Children of Rosey & William Finney are:

Leah Harriet Finney (10/29/1815 - 4/21/1890); William B. "Bogey" Finney (12/23/1817 - 9/9/1886); John Smith Finney (1/28/1820 - 8/28/1840) and Rose Ann Finney (7/8/1831 - 7/18/1900).
