Rose Gastmyer

Rose Petrucha was the daughter of Mr. Joseph Petrucha and Caroline Casmah Petrucha, born August 1873, in the Polish Community in Matagorda County, back before St. Francis Catholic Church was built and before the town of Wadsworth was established. When Rose was grown, young lady, she went to work for Mrs. Rosa Waschka at Inez, TX. One day while helping Mrs. Waschka with the hotel and boarding housethat she ran, she met Mr. Julius William Gastmyer. Their love grew and before long they were married (date unknown). Mr. Gastmyer was born August 30, 1878 at Hamburg, Germany. His trade was carpentry. In the fall of 1960, Mr. Gastmyer had to hve one leg amputated because of bad health. They were blessed with five children. They lived mostly in Houston, TX.
