WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Rosemary C. Bintz, 90, formerly of W. Main Street and Centennial Apts., passed away Monday morning, July 6, at Samaritan Keep Home, where she had resided since July 2, 2007.
The funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, t Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Vincent T. Freeh officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.
Born in Watertown on June 22, 1919, the daughter of James and Catherine Burns Mooney, she graduated from Watertown High School.
On Sept. 13, 1941, she married Donald E. "Lefty" Bintz at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Laurent Bourke officiating. He died April 10, 1991.
She has worked at the telephone company on Pine Camp, and along with being a homemaker, she retired from Kinney Drugs after working many years part-time.
She enjoyed bowling with her husband and they had wintered in Ft. Myers, Fla. for many years.
She was an avid Yankees fan, and "Gogs" will be fondly remembered and sorely missed for her quick wit and sense of humor.
Mrs. Bintz is survived by her four children, Maryellen and James Gannon, Ft. Myers, Fla., Katherine A. and Donald Tremont, Watertown, Michael J. and Dorothy Bintz, Albany, and Thomas E. Bintz, Pillar Point and Florida; her 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law and good friend, Shirley Bintz Richardson, Clayton and Florida; and her nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her husband, Lefty, she was predeceased by her two brothers, James and Francis Mooney, and her sister, Rita Frome.
