Rosemary Hill (born 10 April 1957)[1] is an English writer and historian.

Life:

She has published widely on 19th and 20th century cultural history, but she is best known for God's Architect, her multi-award-winning biography of Augustus Pugin. Published in 2007, it won the Wolfson History Prize, the James Tait Black Memorial Prize,[2][3] the Elizabeth Longford Prize, and the Marsh Biography Award. Hill is a trustee of the Victorian Society, a contributing editor to the London Review of Books and is a quondam Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford.

She is the widow of the poet Christopher Logue, whom she married in 1985.[4] On April 10, 2014 she married the architectural historian and journalist Gavin Stamp.[5]
