Rouhollah Sapir

A physician who was committed to the wellbeing and healthcare of his community. Dr. Sapir was active in community service in giving care at the Kourosh Hospital, especially during Tehran's typhus epidemic in the 1940's. He succumbed to the disease himself. After the Iranian Revolution, the Kourosh Hospital was renamed the Dr. Sapir Charity Hospital in his honor, and is currently the 4th largest Jewish charity hospital in the world.
