About Royce William Frost
NORRIDGEWOCK – Royce William Frost, 87, formerly of Embden, died early Sunday, April 29, at his home in Norridgewock surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 3, 1920, in Industry, a son of William and Martha (Packard) Frost. He graduated from Wilton Academy.
On July 3, 1940, he married, Blandine Mosher in the parsonage of the Wilton Congregational Church.
He began his working career lumbering in the Wilton area before moving to the Forks and going to work for SD Warren, where he also worked on the river drives. He and his wife left the Forks in 1960, when he founded Frost Cedar Products in Embden, a company which one of his sons R. Frank Frost continues to own and operate now.
He was a member, trustee and trusted chef of fish chowder for the First Congregational Church in North Anson and former assistant Boy Scout Leader in North Anson.
He loved being in the outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening and “looking at the trees.” His greatest passion was time spent with his family especially at family get-togethers.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Blandine of Norridgewock; sons, R. Frank Frost, and his wife, Debra, of Embden and Jack W. Frost Sr., and his wife, Robin, of Anson; daughters, Carmaline Emmons, and her husband, Douglas, of Norridgewock, Carolyn McCarthy, and her husband, Edgar, of Embden, Cheryl White of Embden and Colette Nightingale, and her husband, Carroll, of Skowhegan; sisters, Chrystal Welch, and her husband, Alton, of Wilton and Roaine Hatch of Wilton; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Cecil Frost; sons-in-law, Sam White Sr. and Thomas Rackliffe Sr.; a granddaughter, Carlene Woodbury; and a great-great-grandson, River Lawrence.
His family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Somerset County Hospice and Dr. Saran.
