Rubye Nelson Guenard Levy

COUSHATTA, LA - Funeral services for Rubye Nelson Guenard Levy, 98, will be held at the First United etodist Church in Coushatta, Louisiana. Officiating will be Rev. Canon Jane W. B. Alexander of St. Marks Cathedral and Ellen Montegudio of First United Methodist Chrch in Coushatta. Interment will follow in Springville Cemetery also in Coushatta.

Visitation was held Monday, October 7, fro 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, LA.

Mrs. Levy was born on Longwood Plantation north of Lake Providence, Louisiana, on September 22, 1904 and passed away October 5, 2002.

She served a Clerk of Court of East Carroll Parish, succeeding her first husband, James Hortaire Guenard, who died in 1948, while serving in that office. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Golden Leigh Levy, and her son, James Hortaire Guenard, Jr. and a grandson, Henry William Bethard IV. Mrs. Levy is survived by her daughter, Olive Ann Guenard Bethard, wife of Henry William Bethard III, of Coushatta; daughter-in-law, Donna Carter Guenard, also of Coushatta, and by grandchildren, Suzanne B. Hearne, wife of Dr. Sanders F. Hearne of Shreveport, James G. Bethard and wife, Florence, Robert E. Bethard and wife Rhoda, of Coushatta, James H. Guenard, III, and wife, Ormond of Lafayette, Anne G. Yake and husband, Mike of Dallas, Texas, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to donors choice.
