Russell Joseph Watkins

Russell was a bowler and won many awards, He even went to Atlantic City for tourments.

He worked in the mines, Dorrance Colliery,for 40 some years. He was a 'fireboss', which meant he always went down first to check for gases before miners went down. He had his leg crushed by a gondola, which I believe years later formed a blood clot and went to his brain. He died of a stroke.

He loved to cook and his specialty was potato salad and baked lima beans.
