Ruth Cruse married Thomas Atkinson (son of Henry Atkinson & Ann) on 02 SEP 1764 at Cane Creek Monthly Meeting, Mitchell, North Carolina, USA; his first wife. Mother of John Atkinson and Thomas Atkinson Jr.

After her death, Thomas Atkinson married secondly on 5 Sep 1781 at Cane Creek MM, Orange, North Carolina to Ruth Harvey, daughter of Isaac Harvey & Martha Newlin. Mother of Martha Patricia Atkinson and Rachel Atkinson.
