Daughter of Edward Phelps, Jr. and Ruth Andrews. Ruth Phelps married Thomas Carter, Sr. (1682-1737) on 25 Dec 1706 in Andover, Essex Co, MA. They had eight children: Ruth (1708-1760); Abigail (1711-1804); John (1713-?); Thomas, Jr. (1716-1802); Elizabeth (1719-1790); James (1720-1800); Sarah (1725-1799); Phineas (1727-1807) .

Buried in Old Settlers Burial Yard, Lancaster, Worcester Co, MA.
