The daughter of Colonel Philemon & Eleanor (Jacob) Griffith of Montgomery Co MD, Ruthy married:
1) Caleb Dorsey on 7 Sep 1812 in Frederick Co MD, the son of Captain John & Margaret Ann (Boone) Dorsey of Anne Arundel Co MD. Caleb died in 1820. They had one known child, but likely there were more as yet not found. 2) Charles Dorsey Warfield on 28 Jan 1823 in Howard Co MD, the son of Benjamin & Ariana (Dorsey) Warfield of Warfield's Forest Plantation, near Lisbon in Howard Co MD. This site is now known as Oakley Farms. Charles and Ruthy had four known children, three sons and one daughter.
Ruthy's Will was probated on 19 Sep 1854 in Howard Co MD. As soon as a copy is located, the transcribed text will be included in her Bio.
Portraits of Ruthy and second husband Charles, hang on the west wall of the Baxley-Mellor Auditorium of the Howard County Historical Society, in Maryland.
