About S. Larry Wheatley

Samuel Larimer (Larry) Wheatley, 87, of 250 Henderson Avenue, died Sunday, April 25, 1971, in Desoto Memorial Hospital, Arcadia, Fla. He had been a patient there for the past two weeks. Mr. Wheatley had spent the past 13 winters at Arcadia where he resided at 27 Iowa Avenue. He was born near Hickory, October 2, 1883, a son of John and Catherine Eliza Ply Wheatley. He was a member of the Third United Presbyterian Church, of which he was an elder emeritus. Mr. Wheatley had worked for nearly 40 years at the Highland and Mississippi Glass Company and for 15 years prior to his retirement was employed at Home Quality Laundry. He married Nellie Bly Headley, of Greene County, May 25, 1918. She survives. Also surviving ls a daughter, Arabelle Wheatley Buckbee, pf Caldwell, N. J. One daughter, five sisters and one brother are deceased.
