Sadia (9), was seated in the rear of the car while her father alighted from the vehicle. Whilst in the stationary motor vehicle in the driveway of her grandparent’s home‚ the accused and another assailant accosted her and her father‚”
“The assailants were armed and demanded the car keys from her father at gunpoint. He threw the car keys to them‚ whereafter they both boarded the vehicle.
“Whilst both assailants were fleeing the scene in his vehicle with his daughter in the car‚ he fired several shots toward the driver with his licensed firearm‚”
The nine-year-old girl’s death was caused by a gunshot wound to her chest. The other alleged hijacker was shot in the pelvis and died at the scene.

- The haunting strains of a bagpipe heralded the arrival of a tiny white coffin bearing the body of slain 9-year-old Sadia Sukhraj at the Christian Revival Centre in Chatsworth on Tuesday. 29th May.
- About 2 500 mourners filled the church. They openly wept as a slide show of the 9-year-old’s short life played on the big screen. Photographs of the slain girl as a baby‚ at the beach with her parents as a toddler‚ her birthday parties and in her school uniform featured in the video tribute.
