About Sadie Bartholomew (Robinson)
Two girls of that name were born in the last quarter of 1899. One was born in Bradford and the other was born in Darlington, and it is not clear which of those is the one who is buried here. Irrespective of that, she met George Bartholomew at a dance in the Winter Gardens at Morecambe, and they married in the first quarter of 1921, in the registration district of Haslingden, which is about forty miles South East of Morecambe. Their only child was the comedian Eric Morecambe (ne Bartholomew). She died in St. Albans in Hertfordshire; possibly, in her son's house at Harpenden, which is only a few miles away.
