About Saint Domne Eafe
Display name, first recorded as "Domne Eue" in a genealogy of Kentish Kings, is probably a contraction of "domina Eaba". She parted with her husband some time before 673, after the assasination of her two brothers in the Kentish court, and was granted land in Thanet as part of her 'wergild'. It seems highly likely that she was the founder of the nunnery at Minster who was later recorded as Aebba - a nunnery of which one of her daughters was subsequently Abbess.
