Sallie was the daughter of Daniel S. and Alfa Patterson Poindexter. She was born in Tennessee and married Millus Lafayette Benson on December 1,1868 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. They moved to Paragould, Green Co., Arkansas soon after they were married. Their children were Joe, Tennie and twins George W. and Sallie. Sallie Passed away in Lawrence Co., Arkansas at the age of 75.
