Sally Schongalla

On Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, our beloved Sally left us suddenly to be with the Lord. She was 49 years young and passed away from pneumonia.

Sally was born March 25, 1954, to Joe and Joan Geis, the oldest of six children.

She married Scott Schongalla and had two children. Sally went to Lewis-Clark State College and became a nurse. She always enjoyed working with children and the elderly.

She is survived by her husband at the family home in Rio Rancho, N.M.; a son, Shaeffer and wife Felice, and their two children, Mary and Cervantes, also of New Mexico; her father, Joe Geis of Cottonwood; four sisters, Mary and husband John Ansbaugh, Diana and husband Gary Hattrup, Peggy and husband Russell Matson and Nita and husband Arnie Chandler; a brother, Bernie Geis; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Geis, and precious daughter, Sara.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service was held Thursday in New Mexico. A memorial service will be held in Cottonwood at a later date.
