Samuel Sixkiller was born in 1852 in the Cherokee Nation. His parents were Archibald Sixkiller and Charlotte Adair, both Cherokee. [1] Arch died in 1863. Sam married Nancy Lasley about 1875. They were the parents of Gaffiord, Archibald, Lynch, [2] George [3] Emma, Edward "Ned", [4] and Delia. [5]
Sam received a share of the "Old Settler" payment in 1896 as the son and grandson of Old Settlers. He was enrolled by the Dawes Commission in 1902 [6] and was approved for a share of the Eastern Cherokee (Guion Miller) payment in 1911.
The 1910 U.S. Census shows Sam, Nancy, and Delia living in Adair County, OK. [7] Sam died in 1924 and is buried at the Flint Courthouse Cemetery, Adair County, OK. [8]

There were two Samuel Sixkillers of a similar age at this time. This man should not be confused/conflated with Samuel Sixkiller (1842-1886).
