Sampson Newsom named six of his children in his will. He did not name his son Lewis in the will, although there is a clear birth record that shows Lewis is the son of Sampson. Perhaps Lewis was not named because he had removed to North Carolina. Likewise, Sampson did not list a son name William in his will, and that may be because William moved to Tennessee.
