About Samuel Averbug
Born in Kishinev around 1881 to Lion and Pauline Averbuch.
Married Freyda Chana Brik, from the prominent Brik merchant family of Kishinev, around 1901.
They emigrated to Argentina after the Kishinev pogroms with their son Abraham and Samuel's parents. In Bahía Blanca, they had two more children - Gregorio (Hirsch) and a girl who died in infancy.
Samuel and his family later emigrated to Brazil, where he established jewelry and clothing businesses.
Samuel became a widower in 1923. He was remarried around two years later to Dora Lerner, the widow of Safed-born merchant Nachum Lerner, of São Paulo.
They had another son, Lion, in 1927, and later married his elder son, Abraham, to her youngest daughter, Myriam.
Samuel died in October 29th, 1959, aged 78. He was survived by his widow Dora, sons Gregorio and Lion, seven grandchildren, a grandson-in-law, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
