   Samuel Baker was born 5 February 1803 in Bedford Co., PA. He was the son of John and Anna (Echelman or Snowbarger) Becker. His family to Ohio in 1815 with the William Hart family. They
   settled along the old Mill Road north of Union in Randolph Twp., Montgomery Co., OH. On 13 March 1825 he married Catharine Brumbaugh (born 4 July 1807) d/o Henry and Elizabeth (Folk) Brumbaugh. About 1835 they left Randolph Township and move to Neave Township, Darke County and resided at Baker. They were members of the German Baptist Brethren Church. He was a farmer and was listed in the 1850 U>S. Agricultural Census. Samue died 3 July 1855 and Catharine on 16 August 1886. They are buried in West Branch Cemetery, Neave Township.

   Samuel and Catherine Brumbaugh Baker was printed. Here are some excerpts from it.
   "This Bible now in the possession of Ms. Jayne Baker, Worthington, Ohio. It was originally purchased by Samuel Baker (1803-1855) who married Catherine Brumbaugh (1807-1886) in 1825 in Montgomery Co., Ohio. In 1832 they moved to Darke County, Ohio and settled in Neave Township. Sam was the son of John Becker (1758-1824), an early settler north of Union, Ohio. Although the family had been in America 80-100 years, the text is in German.
