I suppose because my Samljrjr went off to Bourbon County Kentucky in
1792 the trail ends for him in Culpeper as far as memory and records
went. He had left the old Clayton farm sometime after 1786 the year
old mjr Philip died and he married Catharine PRICE and lived nearer
her family and some of his WILLIAMS cousins in Shenandoah Co. Shows
up on the 1790 Shenandoah tax list and finally in Apr 1792 on a deed
of mortgage to his brother Mjr. Philip Clayton the younger, of his
furniture and 7 slaves, before leaving for Ky where the date of the
land survey on Stoner Creek in Bourbon County is 10-25-1792.
