Revolutionary War Patriot

Wife: Keziah Bray. Children include: George (married Elenel Rollins), Mary (married Alexander Campbell), and Simeon (married Rebecca Ckickering).

Keziah Bray was born in 1732 in Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts to Moses Bray and Mary Woodbury. The year and approximate date of birth are known from her baptism. She was baptized on August 26, 1732. [1]

She married Samuel Dennen on March 4, 1754 in Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts. [2] [3]. Son of Job Dennen and Abigail (Babson).

Samuel was a seaman during the Revolutionary War and a prisoner sent from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Boston on the Cartel “Swift” on September 30, 1778. [4] [5]

Samuel and Keziah remained in Gloucester until late in life, when they removed to Poland, Maine, where both of them died. [2] Their date of removal was estimated to be "about 1770". [4] They settled on the farm now owned by Moses McKnight (as of 1891). [4]

Death and Internment

Kezia passed away in 1801. She was laid to rest at the Seiberling-Witham Cemetery in Minot, Androscoggin County, Maine. [5]
