Samuel Farwell was a fisherman born about 1710, probably in a coastal fishing village in England. It is likely that he chose Marblehead, Mass as his new home because of its fishing industry.
Samuel married in England, Mary, probably the daughter of Robert Foster and related to the Scotch-Irish Fosters who settled in New Hampshire.
No records have been found of the deaths of Samuel or Mary in Marblehead, but since we find no indication that they accompanied their sons to NH, we can assume they died in Marblehead, perhaps in the care of the only daughter, who did not immigrate with her brothers to NH.
