Samuel Feier (Citizen Certificate)

Born January 30, 1886 in Maramarossziget Romania. He lived in Hungary?, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and California.

His first marriage: in 1908 to Yetta Weider and had 3 children. They married in Maramarossziget and were divorced. Children: Sadye (Rabbi Harry) Shapiro - son, Martin; Ruth (Ben) Stroll - daughter Sondra, son Stanley; Joseph aka Joe Fair (Marian Legomsky) - son Melvyn (blue eyes), daughter Marlene.

Yetta married Rabbi Zelmanowitz in Chicago IL. Rabbi Zelmanowitz's son was Abraham Zelmanowitz, who died on 9/11 in the Twin Towers, staying with his wheelchair-bound friend Ed.

Samuel married second time with Sonja Feierverger. She might have died before him.

He was a trucking contractor of granite. He died of a heart attack in 1967 when living in Los Angeles CA. He is buried in Mishawaka, IN.

On his Certificate of Citizenship his name shows as Samuel Feier. He was also known as Fair, as was his son Joseph Feierverger aka FAIR. Joe was supposedly born in Budapest.

Samuel belonged to the Odd Fellows in Pennsylvania. He had blue eyes and about 5'6". His naturalization # is 3926314. It shows Chechoslovakia as nationality.

The last time Marlene (b 1938) saw her paternal grandfather was when she was about 8-9 years old - he came to say goodbye, hugged her, and left - never to be seen or heard from again. Yetta was a nasty woman and it is good that he left her and found happiness with Sonya.
