About Samuel Oscar Frankel
My Uncle Sam, a fabulous character, married Florence Ryan, quite late in life, in fact, after the death of the last remaining brother or sister of his father, who was, I think, Hinda Zox. Sam and Florence had no children. (his nephew, Lee Benjamin Frankel).
Uncle Sam was a great salesman of ladies' dresses and coats and suits. He was on the road and made a marvelous living. And he was a jobber for the coats and suits on 318 West Adams in Chicago, Illinois. He also liked the horses and a good part of everyday was spent reading the racing forms and choosing the horses carefully. He had a huge love for his family and the his nieces and nephews greatly enjoyed his visits. He had a new joke for his customers every time he came to town.
