Biography

When Capt Samuel Gardiner was born in 1675 in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, his father, George, was 28 and his mother, Tabitha, was 22. He married Ann Briggs and they had seven children together. He also had one child from another relationship. He then married Rachel Nichols on June 28, 1750, in Rhode Island. He died on April 30, 1768, in Exeter, Rhode Island, at the impressive age of 93, and was buried in his hometown.
