Samuel Goddard, son of Benjamin and Mary Kidder Goddard, was born December 27, 1742 in Grafton, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.[1][2]

Samuel Goddard married Elizabeth King May 25, 1769 in Sutton, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.[3] Samuel and Elizabeth lived in Sutton and had their first five children born there. They moved to Royalston 1783-1784 where their sixth child was born.[4] Elizabeth King Goddard, wife of Samuel in her 36th year of age, died March 15, 1786 in Royalston, Massachusetts.[5]

Samuel Goddard married "Catherine Parks of Gerry" June 29, 1790 in Athol, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.[6] Bond records that she was a widow.[7]

Samuel Goddard and Elizabeth King had the following six children:

  1. Henry Goddard was born on 25 Feb 1770 in Sutton Massachusetts. He died on 18 Feb 1848 at the age of 77 in Royalston Worcester Massachusetts.
  2. Samuel Goddard was born in 1770 in Royalston Windsor Vermont
  3. Elizabeth Godard was born about 1774 in Rehoboth Bristol Massachusetts. She died on 4 Oct 1834 at the age of 70 in Montpelier Washington Vermont.

  • 9 Mar 1807: Dower set off to Katherine Goddard the widow.
  • 21 May 1807: Account of Katharine Goddard administratrix of Samuel Goddard late of Royalston Gentleman deceased, allowed. Assent of Jonathan Gale, guardian of all the minor children of Samuel Goddard.
