Carlisle, March 29.-- A telegram received here at noon announced the death of Samuel Hepburn, Jr., aged 50, on board the steamer Iroquois, off the coast of South Carolina, while on the way to Jacksonville, Florida, for the benefit of his health. He left here last Monday, accompanied by his son Charles, a young man, who is a student at Dickinson College. He has been in ill health for some time, but no one surmised there was any danger. The message says he died of apoplexy. He was a brilliant lawyer and one of the best known men in this part of the State, having a large practice in both the lower and Supreme Courts.
