During the Revolutionary war he was for some time commissary at Charlestown, a point of concentration for the American troops under Gen. Stark. He was also high sheriff of the county and held at different times various local offices of honor and trust. Though small of stature he was energetic and brave...He was a farmer at Charlestown, N.H. and quite wealthy."
