About Samuel Kalimahana Kaiali'ili'i Kalimahana Miller

This Miller son leads to a newly-discovered Alika Miller Mela, Jr. descendant I have just met over Geni.com and the internet, a Mark James Miller....fifth and last child (second son) of Anonymous Miller.

Mr. Anonymous Miller, father of Cousin Mark James Miller, was the first born son of Anonymous Hayashi and Annie Maikai Miller, shares Cousin Mark.

Annie was one of 12 children to Samuel Kalimahana and Daisy Amoe Miller.

Amazing discovery! Lptm

With this page, I invite cousin Mark James Miller to attach his line to mine, if he is at all... so, inclined. Lptm

I am very much aware that great great great grandpa Alika Miller Mela, Jr. never gave my ohana permission to find, seek out, or ever link up with cousin Mark's side. His genealogical chart to us never told us there was, a Samuel [second] son! He only told us about Kele, his daughter....whom we thought was a kane, until we did some research.

Grandpa really wanted us to remain in the ancient kanaka maoli shadows with respect to his keiki with other marriages, I think.

But that does not mean I will not respond to a heretofore possible relation in the 21st century if he or she makes the first introductory gesture, grandpa. Right? Right! Lptm

I am aware that what was not on our chart, was not supposed to be added, especially for any of his keiki with the haole version of his name. There was a deep kupuna divide for such possible relations, in our minds. To respect our ancients.

I am of the impression that Cousin Mark's side knew nothing about my ohana side until recently over the internet.

Fascinating! Lptm

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can only justify what I publish and do, because I believe it is what I feel I must....to cast off my ancient genealogy into the sharing kettle for other ohana cousins who are actively in need of whatever my life experience and awarenesses can do for them. Many of them are signing up with the sovereignty leaders, determined to bring back the illegally-Overthrown Kingdom. Some unite with the Kamehameha Dynastic wing. Others unite with other wings, especially the Kalakaua wing that actually was the victim of the Overthrow under Queen Liliuokalani. Many unite under all three major and historic wings: The Kamehameha Dynasty, the Lunalilo/Kamehameha Dynasty; and the Kamehameha/Kalakaua Dynasty.
Such is the individual's business.
All I wish is for their continued good health, pono behavior to make our kupuna proud when we meet them and each other, again in heaven.
I also pray that their present and future political/social/economic behaviors...
are void of hate, resentment and violence.
God Almighty detests the Angry, Resentful, Prideful, Lying and Violent...
for they do Evil's work,...
not HIS,
not HIS SON"S. Lptm
Whether cousin Mark takes me/us up on this invitation, I assure him that I/we will not be offended if he decides to "leave well-enough alone... and as it was" when great great great grandpa Alika, Jr...... died in 1890.
My worth and identify is not primarily tied up in the ancient genealogy of the Pacific Ocean. I am a Bible-centered child/disciple and am more grounded in the Abraham genealogy of the Holy Bible...
for I accept God Almighty as my one-and-only God through his Son, Lord Jesus Christ..... with the merciful administering, comfort and guidance.....
of the Holy Spirit of God's Truth. Lptm
Take care, dear Mark.
Lots of aloha and pono wishes, whatever you decide.
with much kanaka maoli love, from Puanani/Nani Ontai Tilton Matsumoto, Lptm
According to the Great Mahele document archived in the Honolulu State Archives next to and behind 'Iolani Palace, this Samuel Kalimahana Miller was number 8 of eight children born to Alika, Jr. with official wife #two... Kanuha Kaialiilii ...who were married in 1855! Kanuha, her parents, oand her children appear in Probate 811 (1st. Cc, 1881) of her brother {Captain } J. H. Mathias who died in 1881! This document secures the claims of the keiki officially reported as descending this marriage during from the latter half of the 19th century!
Notice Sister number 5 is , we believe... Kahinu's birth-child, Kanekapolei Miller Mela Nauku Tilton! Another ancient kanaka attempt to keep sibling lines closely intertwined, something westerners frowned on and thought their system could prevent!
Oh, the ache and pain a genealogist still feels today when coming across such documents that hint at the psychological turmoil countless Ohana leaders experienced merely because the kanaka wanted to keep the greater Ohana FAMILy together at all costs, despite the fact that wise kanaka saw how the coming overthrow of the kingdom seemed to be on the horizon by the 1880's ..."with an eventual breakdown of the greater Hawaiian Ohana into smaller nuclear family units favored by the west!
Responses and challenges are more than welcome in our pursuit of Truth, please! Lptm
