Child, Ephraim - b. about 1593 Westminster, Middlesex; d. Nov. - Dec. 1662, Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. Arrived in America with the Winthrop fleet in 1630, settling at Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA, where he became a freeman May 18, 1631. Deacon Ephraim served in various public offices in Watertown. His will, dated Nov. 20, 1662, with the estate inventoried on Dec. 13, 1662, names nephews Richard, John and Benjamin CHILD, and Benjamin's son Ephraim. Married on Feb. 8, 1624/5 at Nayland, Suffolk to Mrs. Elizabeth (BOND) PALMER (d. 1667, Watertown, Suffolk Co., MA), widow of Samuel PALMER, and daughter of Jonas and Rose BOND of Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Elizabeth's will was dated June 11, 1664, naming Richard CHILD's wife and son Richard, and Benjamin CHILD's wife. Ephraim and Elizabeth apparently had no children surviving them
