Samuel Post was listed on a deed as having purchased a plantation or tract of land containing 333 acres from the State of SC for the consideration of seven pound 15/4 (symbol) sterling money. The land was surveyed for him the 26 Sep 1785, and situated in District 96 on Roses Creek, a branch of the Savannah River. The deed was signed by the Surveyor General 19 June 1789. He was listed on page 457 of the 1790 US census for Abbeville Co., SC; 2 males over 16 including head of household; e males under 16; and 2 females. He was residing in Elbert Co., GA, at the time of the 1805 land lottery. Samuel Sr., Samuel Jr., William, John, all had two draws.
